Owensville is located in Gasconade County in east central Missouri and is the business hub for several small towns that surround Owensville.

It possesses an active business community, a strong industrial community, an excellent school system, many churches of all denominations and sizes, and varied organizations for adults and youth. Fairs and festivals during the year provide community spirit and good times. We are proud of the caring people and the individual community pride.

Owensville is surrounded by hills and woods that are beautiful in every season. Owensville offers the benefits of rural life with City services. We are fortunate to have two beautiful lake developments within a few minutes drive of Owensville.

Owensville Demographics

Owensville is located in south central of Gasconade County, Missouri.  The City is approximately 70.8 miles southwest of St. Louis, 55.5 miles southeast of Jefferson City, and 22.3 miles north of Cuba (I-44).

Missouri Highways 28 and 19 serve Owensville.  In addition the City is 22 miles north of Interstate 44.

Owensville is a fourth-class municipality incorporated under Missouri law.  Owensville's government is organized under a Mayor and a four-member City Council.  The Council is elected from two wards on an alternating basis.  The mayor is elected at-large for a two-year term.  Other municipal officials include the City Administrator, City Attorney, City Collector, City Clerk, City Marshal, and the administrative heads of the City departments.

Owensville is a city of 2,757 located in south central Gasconade County, Missouri. Owensville has experienced a 3% growth in population since 2010.  The City is contained within 2.02 square miles and has a per square mile density of 1,281.
